Jackfish

Jackfish Lake rewards visitors with rugged beauty at every turn as you boat-in on a memorable trip to the cabin.  Part of an extensive chain of lakes with moving water, the fishery of Jackfish is healthy and productive and fishing pressure is low. Bays, islands, reefs and weed beds are common and this diversity translates into impressive fishing potential. Walleye, northern pike, smallmouth and crappie are the featured species and there is always the chance for a trophy. Windy days are not a problem, shelter can be found just around the corner. Want even more seclusion? One of the privileges of booking with us is access to our cache boats on Loonhaunt and Ottertail lakes. A short portage will reveal a whole new opportunity to explore and fish lakes that are accessible exclusively by float plane. At over 5000 acres, and 76 miles of shoreline, Loonhaunt is one of the premier fly-in lakes in the Rainy River District. Lake trout and muskie can be found here as well as the usual species of the surrounding lakes. Ottertail, known for it’s crappie, walleye and pike has no outposts and is accessible only by portage.  Bring your own motor and the boats are available without charge. Whatever you decide the Jackfish chain area opens up tremendous opportunity to fish multiple species and the cabin sits right in the middle of it all.
